SEO Contest from SEO WEB HOSTING & SEO WEB DESIGN
I have been thinking about creating an SEO Contest, and would like to get feedback from SEO professionals on how a contest should be done. I was thinking of a contest where the keyword is unique, and also not in the current google, yahoo, msn index. I would also say that the destination seo optimized page is not a blog... it should be an HTML 4.0 + type page with CSS and layers if you like.

Blog or not a blog, I guess the definition should be clearer than that. Because if people will not use a blog software, they will still attempt to make a site with frequent updates just for more frequent crawling and also trying to hit 1 bird with more stones. Increasing the chances of winning with more pages and checking which page ranks best. In effect the plain HTML site will still act like a blog, but will be having manual updates instead of coming from a CMS. So I think the rule: "the destination seo optimized page is not a blog." is not that clear. Do you mean not using a common blog software like Blogger, Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal, etc? Or do you mean the page should not always have updates all the time since you can always update a page without a blogging software, it will just make your work harder and more time consuming doing it manually.
SEO is toast now thanks to the entry of Wal-Mart into the field.

You can always buy a cheap guitar at Walmart, but the best ones are not there. You can always buy a BMX bike and freestyle bike at Walmart but if you do real BMX racing and freestyle, the bikes there are not good enough. The same is true with everything else.
